Electric Field Simulator -- Ph213
Cooper student Gregory Shikhman wrote a program in Javascript that simulates the motion of electric charges in the presence of an electric field produced by a number of 'fixed' (immovable) electric charges.
You can select from a menu of existing distribution of fixed electric charges, or you can place positive or negative charges wherever you like. The program then continuously generates streams of electric charges that respond to the total electric field produced by all of the fixed charges. The program also shows lines of constant voltage (electric potential) surrounding the fixed charges.
