Daniel Lepek

American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE)

 

 

Professor Daniel Lepek is an active member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), both on the local and national level since 2002.  Locally, Dr. Lepek works with the AIChE Metro New York Section to help plan events, particularly for students. In 2011, Dr. Lepek was a panelist and guest speaker for the AIChE Career Day event during the ChemShow held at the Javits Center in New York City.  

Dr. Lepek is very involved with AIChE on a national level, particularly with regards to the Education Division and the Particle Technology Forum.  For the AIChE Education Division, Dr. Lepek has chaired or co-chaired numerous sessions, particularly the Young Faculty Forum.  The Young Faculy Forum provides early-career chemical engineering professors with perspectives on teaching and research, as well as introducing them to the National Science Foundation through interactions with NSF Program Managers.  Within the Education Division, Dr. Lepek currently serves as a member of the Course Survey Committee and International Committee.

For the Particle Technology Forum, Dr. Lepek has chaired or co-chaired sessions for Program Group 3a: Particle Production and Characterization.  For the past few years, Dr. Lepek has been heavily involved with supervising the session "Characterization of Engineered Particles and Nanostructured Particulate Systems." 

Dr. Lepek has given presentations and poster presentations on topics ranging from Particle Technology to Chemical Engineering Education since the 2006 Spring Annual Meeting (held in conjunction with the 5th World Congress on Particle Technology).
